COVID-19, Health, & Safety Protocols
Rooted in Care, Guided by Collective Responsibility
At Grantmakers in the Arts (GIA), we are committed to creating a conference environment that centers community care, access, and wellness. As part of our collective responsibility to protect one another—especially our most vulnerable participants—GIA requests that all attendees wear masks indoors and in close contact with others, unless actively eating, drinking, presenting, or speaking at a physical distance from large groups. GIA is a small team and will not be able to directly enforce this policy, so this is an opportunity to exercise community care to keep everyone safe.
Masks will be provided at registration to those in need, but due to limited supply, we kindly ask that all attendees bring their own high-quality masks (KN95, KF94, or N95 recommended).
If there is anything else that would make you more comfortable navigating COVID at this conference, please don’t hesitate to reach out to gia@giarts.org.
-
GIA is not requiring proof of a negative COVID-19 test to attend the conference.
We strongly encourage all attendees to self-test within 24 hours of arriving.
If you test positive or experience symptoms, please stay home and prioritize your health.
GIA will provide a full refund to any registrant who cannot attend due to a positive test result.
-
Free masks and COVID-19 self-tests will be available upon request at the conference, while supplies last. You can access these resources at the help desk.
Hand sanitizer will be provided throughout the venue.
Ventilated and low-traffic indoor spaces will be available for unmasking, rest, and reset; outdoor spaces will be identified, if available.
Speakers and presenters may remove their masks while actively speaking at a safe distance from attendees.
-
GIA will continue to monitor and follow health guidance from the State of Minnesota and other relevant public health authorities. While we are taking all reasonable measures to reduce risk and support safer participation, we cannot guarantee a COVID-free environment.
If you experience symptoms or test positive during or within 14 days after the conference, please notify us at gia@giarts.org.
