Join us for a preconference cultural tour to Hutchinson, MN—an arts-rich rural town just west of the Twin Cities and home to the Minnesota Pottery Festival and a vibrant public art scene. During our drive, we’ll explore the Legacy Amendment, Minnesota’s groundbreaking public investment in the arts that delivered over $57 million statewide in FY2024. Upon arrival, attendees will take a guided tour of the Hutchinson Sculpture Stroll, featuring 25 sculptures and two murals. A panel of rural arts leaders—including a county commissioner, regional arts council director, and local nonprofit head—will share how sustained public funding has shaped their communities. Together, we’ll reflect on what it means to embed cultural investment into the fabric of rural life.
