janera solomon is a writer, curator and, Founder & CEO of ARTPOWER, a fintech startup developing tools to advance financial health and long-term wealth for independent artists. As an artist with a background in economics, cultural strategy and organizational design, janera brings over 25 years of leadership experience and a deep understanding of creative economies.

A cultural strategist and former executive director of Pittsburgh’s Kelly Strayhorn Theater, janera led a decade of transformation—commissioning contemporary performance, launching literary, music, and dance residencies, and pioneering community-rooted cultural practices that scaled trust and impact.

janera hosts the ARTPOWER podcast, which explores the financial lives of working artists and the delicate balance between money and creative practice. janera holds a BA from the University of Pittsburgh and an MA in nonfiction writing from Johns Hopkins University. She is currently completing her debut collection of essays and poems.
