CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
Volunteer at Grantmakers in the Arts’ 2026 Annual Conference in Memphis
Grantmakers in the Arts (GIA) is pleased to invite volunteers to support the 2026 GIA Annual Conference, October 18–21, 2026, in Memphis, Tennessee.
This year’s conference will bring participants throughout Memphis for a distributed program of plenaries, learning sessions, cultural experiences, receptions, and other gatherings. Volunteers will work alongside GIA staff to help welcome and guide conference participants and support the smooth operation of conference activities.
Volunteer responsibilities may include:
• Providing staff and administrative support throughout conference events
• Welcoming, communicating with, and directing conference participants
• Supporting registration, session transitions, and attendee logistics
• Assisting with off-site programs and activities throughout Memphis
• Helping GIA staff respond to needs as they arise during the conference
In exchange for their time and participation, conference volunteers receive:
• Complimentary registration for the full annual conference
• Complimentary participation in one preconference program and all conference receptions
• Travel to and from Memphis
• Hotel accommodations during the volunteer period
• Access to meals provided for GIA staff and/or conference attendees
• A per diem for meals not provided as part of conference activities
Conference volunteers should be available to participate alongside GIA staff from Friday, October 16 through Wednesday, October 21, 2026. A volunteer work schedule will be developed in advance to identify staffing shifts and free time. During their free time, volunteers are welcome to participate in conference programming.
